Beanz still Meanz Heinz
Tune into your TV screens tomorrow to witness the return of one of the greatest slogans of our time, as Heinz calls on its original line to sell more baked beans.
'Beanz Meanz Heinz' became a catchphrase in the 70s and 80s after its birth in a London pub in 1967. The ad went:
'Sometimes when I'm feeling sad my mum will read the signs. She knows the thing to cheer me up and she knows that Beanz Meanz Heinz.' 40 years on it's still a hit!

My favourite add was
'Oh Mr grocer what can we do
we have no Heinz Baked Beans in stock
we've given them all to you.
The customers will moan.
Think of all their faces.
Please get on the telephone and order several cases.'
I think it was from the early 60's. Jane
