The Great UK Storm - 20 years on

Can you believe it is 20 years since Michael Fish calmly said "A woman has phoned the BBC this evening and said there is a hurricane on the way, but if you're watching, don't worry, there isn't". Within hours of having uttered these words, a huge storm battered the UK with the fiercest winds seen in nearly 300 years.

16 people were killed and over 1.5 million trees were uprooted as the hurricane tore a path across the country.

I wonder who that woman was who phoned the BBC and how did she know that a hurricane was coming? Does anyone know?
